Södertälje Basketball Club

Södertälje Basketball Club (SBBK) is one of Sweden’s best teams for both male and female basketball players, and has won many Swedish Championships. The club has been a source of great pride and joy to the city of Södertälje for decades.

Scania’s agreement with the club includes a traditional sports sponsorship programme, with Scania brand exposure during elite games via speakers and on jerseys, display boards, programmes. We also get match tickets for our employees and customers.

 

But maybe the most exciting initiative Scania is involved in is our dedicated support for the SBBK Model – a tool that has been developed by the club to address problems facing young people in the Södertälje area. Scania backs projects aimed at encouraging integration and equality, such as summer camps and evening basketball games at weekends. We have recently extended our support for the project, and are now putting more emphasis on sustainability. The SBBK Model helps us teach the young generation about sustainability in a broad sense.
